What time do in-class lessons start?
9:00 am to 3:30 pm each of the 4 days of in-class lessons - All in-class hours must be attended.

Missed in-car lessons
If you do not show up to drive you will be charged $60.00. You must give 48 hours notice to change an appointment.
If I am more than 15 minutes late - do not wait - the lesson will be rescheduled. If buses are cancelled so is driving.
Driving starts and ends at LDSS or the Maitland classroom.

Do I have to complete my G1 in order to attend your program?
No, but you must start the In-Vehicle training within 60 days after completion of the classroom portion.

Can I use the instructor’s car for the road test?   Fee is $200.00 - The instructor will book the test.

How do I book my road test?
You may book your G2 road test on line at www.drivetest.ca  or 1-888-570-6110 after you have been certified. If you wish to use the instructors’ car please let them book the test.
DO NOT BOOK THROUGH SCAM SITES >>> Only the above site is the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario. Look for the trillium logo.

My Insurance Company/Broker wants Proof of Beginner Driver Education Course Completion
Proof for possible insurance discounts is done in person at your local Driver and Vehicle License Issuing Office (Service Ontario). This must be done only AFTER you have been certified on-line by Maitland Driver Training.
                                               >>> Since 2009 there are no certificates issued by Ontario Driving Schools. <<<

Where will I get picked up for my in-car lessons?
We will pick you up and drop you off at LDSS or at the Maitland classroom.

Insurance Savings
Depending on the insurer, they have the ability to reduce the cost of a first time driver’s policy if they have taken a driver’s education course. The insurer will not base their decision on which driving school was attended or which approved Beginner Driver Education (BDE) program the student successfully completed.

If I fail the in-class or the in-car part of the course, do I have to take the whole course over again?
No, you will be required to do the written or road evaluation again until you get a passing grade of 75%. There is a fee to retake the in-car test. PLEASE remember --->>> you must complete all portions of the BDE course within 12 months or you will not be certified.

Do you teach defensive driving?
Of course, we teach collision avoidance in city and highway and cover many scenarios, we feel that it is one of the most important aspects of driving.
